The Zurich Bahnhofstrasse Association was founded on October 27, 1955.

Spiritus Rector Hermann Sprüngli was concerned, among other things, with networking retail businesses and banks. The founding members included iconic stores still shaping the street today, such as Bongénie (formerly Grieder), PKZ, Och Sport, Confiserie Sprüngli, Meister Juwelen, Chronometrie Beyer, the former LVZ St. Annahof (now Coop City St. Annahof), Hotel St. Gotthard, Schweizer Heimatwerke, UBS (then Swiss Bank Corporation and Credit Suisse), and many others.

Our services

The association provides a unique platform for exchange between the shops, service providers, and institutions on Bahnhofstrasse, represents their interests, and organizes activities to enhance its attractiveness. Key activities include funding and organizing the Christmas lights “Lucy,” decorating the street with flags, and collaborating with Zurich City Police to ensure shopping quality. Additionally, it enables members to participate in exclusive networking events.
