INFOS TO THE ASSOCIATION BAHNHOFSTRASSE ZURICH

On the 27th of October 1955, the Association for the Bahnhofstrasse Zurich was founded by Hermann Sprüngli. His idea was to have a network between retail businesses and banks. Today, the influential businesses such as Grieder, PKZ, Och Sport, Confiserie Sprüngli, Meister Juwelen, Chronometrie Beyer, the former St. Annahof LVZ (today Coop City St. Annahof), Hotel St. Gotthard, Schweizer Heimatwerke, UBS (former Union Bank of Switzerland), Credit Suisse (the former Schweizerische Kreditanstalt) and many others still belong to the founding members.

The association for the Bahnhofstrasse Zurich, has around 120 members. The board consists of the following members: Daniela Segmüller (Co-President, Restaurant Carlton), Marc-André Schuler (Co-President, Bucherer), Patric Koch (Treasurer, Zürcher Kantonalbank), Milan Prenosil (Sprüngli Confiserie, also president of City Vereinigung), Erhard Schwendimann (Jelmoli), Clara Budelmann (Hermès) and Christian von Rechenberg (Hotel Baur au Lac). The daily business is run by Fanny Eisl.

The association's purpose:
«The Association aims to make the Bahnhofstrasse (including main station and the nearby area) one of the best shopping streets, which also has the most eye-catching Christmas lighting every year. The association is a non-profit organization.»
